Mini Haul | Sephora

I used to be a Sephora Junkie. I was a drugstore makeup snob. I will admit it. But over the last year I really fell in love with drugstore makeup. {And I think drugstore makeup really stepped up their game} But it had been awhile since I had been to Sephora and I was in desperate need for a few items.

The first thing I needed was an under eye powder. I had been using Maybelline Shine Free powder, which is great and gets the job done, but for setting concealer it was just not doing it for me. And forget about baking, it would just crease up and made my under eye very cakey. I was going to pick up Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening powder {which is AMAZING} but instead I wanted a powder that could multitask. I picked up Kat Von D’s Lock It Setting powder.

Review: So far I really like this powder. It’s a great face powder, but is also so finely milled that it is great for setting concealer. It doesn’t cake and is great at baking.

I also grabbed the Kat Von D Lock It Hydrating Primer. I have tried my fair share of drugstore primers and while they are not terrible, I just haven’t found one that is as good as a high end primer.

Review: This is a great primer. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It feels great on the skin, keeps my make up in place. And even though it says hydrating, it doesn’t make my oily/combo skin an oil slick.

Last but not least, I picked up the Naked Smoky palette from Urban Decay. While I am super late to the party with this palette, I have been eyeing it since it came out last year. And what better time to try out a smoky palette then fall/winter when smoky eyes reign.

Review: I’ve only been able to use this a few times since I got it, but I do love it. It’s versatile, pigmented, and blendable. The only shade I’m not totally crazy about is Smolder. Its a deep plum and when I swatched it, it wasn’t as purple as I wanted it to be.

What new makeup items have you picked up?
