It’s almost the new year! Can you believe it? I can’t. But it always seems that this time of year you start to hear “Wow, I can’t believe the year has just flown by!”
2016 was an interesting year to say the least. But the new year always seems to offer the promise of a fresh start, a new beginning. This is why people make resolutions. Now I don’t like to make resolutions in the traditional sense. Like losing weight, or giving up something specific. I like to think of resolutions as something to work towards or a way to better myself.
I am a list maker, an organizer. My mother always makes fun of me for ‘planning’ everything. She always tells me “The more you plan the more God laughs”. I picked up a few things to help get me organized for the new year.
I picked up this cute little planner at Target. I also grabbed these cute colorful pens as a way to jazz up the planner and make events separate from one another.
I do work a normal 8-5 desk job. And I like to keep a list of tasks to keep myself on track. I found this adorable little desk pad at Office Max. It’s much better than keeping track of a gazillion post-its on my desk.
I was scouring Amazon the other day and ran across this little book. Now I am a perpetual list maker. So you can see why this book appealed to me.
I also like to journal, so what a better way to join the two?
This year my non traditional resolution is to be more appreciative. To be happy about something everyday. It can be so easy to dwell on the negative, that we can forget what we do have.
So I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year. I hope you find health and happiness in this new year. I hope 2017 is all that you wish it to be.
