New Year. New Hair | Hair

When it comes to my hair, I get bored VERY easily. At least once a year I’m doing something different, changing it up. The new year means a new fresh look.

A year ago I cut about 8 inches off my hair. I did it mainly to give my hair a fresh start. I had bleached it for years as a blonde, went brunette, use hot tools, you name it – I’ve probably done it to my hair. So about a year ago I chopped it off and stopped coloring it.

But I once again was bored and decided to change it up! I decided to go back blonde. I have an amazing woman who does my hair, Amy, who somehow manages to always make my hair look better than  I pictured. So check out the before and after pictures below. [sorry in advance for the awkward selfies] I still have a couple appointments to go before we can achieve the final look I’m going for. But this is a great first step and I can’t wait to go back.

I also thought I would highlight some of my hair favorites.

Every blonde knows they need a purple shampoo and conditioner
Volumizing mousse and a leave in treatment that doesn’t weigh down hair.
Hairspray and shine serum (great for frizz or flyaways)
Texture spray and the all time best dry shampoo

These are all my go to products. My tried and true that I reach for everyday. Also if you are in the Sacramento area check out Amy at the Red Salon in downtown. You can also check her out on Instagram @amyzinggg or #hairbyamybarnes
