Valentine’s Day Manicure | Nails

February is a busy month for me. Somehow the shortest month of the year is always the busiest. I’ve also somehow managed to come down with a cold this week. So instead of the make-up look I had planned {the last thing I want to do when sick is put on a full face of make-up} I did this grown up, Valentin’s Day inspired, at home manicure.

The star of this at home manicure is the Sinful Colors – Sinful Shine gel manicure system. I can’t tell you how many of these polishes I own. You can find them at Walgreens {they get exclusive colors}, Walmart, and some CVS. The two step process is the color and the Sinful Shine top coat. You can use the top coat with any other polish, in fact, its my favorite top coat of all time. It stays shiny, doesn’t chip, or fade.

Step 1: Remove any nail polish with remover. Then cut or file your nails into your desired shape. Gently push back your cuticles. Use a buffer to smooth out your nails.

Step 2: Moisturize. Use a cuticle oil {baby oil, argan oil, coconut oil, olive oil}. I also give myself a little massage with whatever hand lotion I have at the moment.

Step 3: Apply your base coat, if you use one. Apply two coats of color {I used TuTu Thrill and Supernova}. Finish off with your top coat.

I liked this pale pink for Valentine’s Day, it seemed a little more “grown-up”. Festive but not covered in hearts. And of course there had to be a little glitter. A great red would be quite festive too. Below is one of my favorites from OPI – Big Apple Red. 2017-01-31-18-22-11

What are your plans for Valentine’s Day? or Galentine’s Day? Keep a look out for Monday, I’ll have one more Valentine’s related post!

Whatever you do, I hope its a great one!
