Lancome Teint Idole| Review

I have such a hard time finding a foundation that matches my skin tone. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has this problem. I went through a period of time where the salesgirl at Sephora knew my name because I was coming in so often for samples trying to find a foundation that worked for my skin type and tone. But I think I have finally found my match.

For reference: I wear NW10 in Mac and have oily/combo skin.

I picked up the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear foundation a couple weeks ago from Sephora. I was encouraged that they would have a shade for me since there are 35 shades. I picked up the shade 110 Ivoire (c).

These are the claims from the Sephora website:

An oil-free, long-wearing, liquid foundation that delivers medium-to-full coverage and leaves a natural-looking, velvety-matte finish for up to 24 hours. For those long days, this foundation gives you the full coverage, comfortable, long wear that you need. Not thick or greasy, this foundation’s innovative formula gives all skintones flawless, complexion-perfecting coverage, while the broad spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen protects. Redness, pores, and imperfections visibly disappear, evening the skintone and leaving a mattified-yet-natural result. Formulated with color-true NAI pigments, it maintains your skin’s pH level so that color stays put all day long—meaning your makeup doesn’t need to be re-touched and provides transfer-resistant coverage—plus, it’s infused with perlite and silica, absorbing oil for a shine-free wear.

The foundation comes in a very sleek frosted bottle with a great pump. This foundation has a medium consistency. Not runny but not too thick that it doesn’t move. I applied this over my usual primer, applied it with my Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush, and set it with my usual powder.

As for the claims. I would say that this foundation is definitely medium coverage. I have some hyper-pigmentation from hormonal acne and this foundation does an ok job covering it up. I either need a second layer or concealer to fully cover the hyper-pigmentation.

It does have a naturally matte finish. I set it with powder and it doesn’t look overly matte or cakey as some matte foundations can. The foundation does last all day. Now I don’t wear foundation for 24 hours, but it will last from the time I put it on for work (about 7am) to when I get home (7pm). While I still get oily throughout the day, this foundation doesn’t break up. A couple of blotting sheets and my foundation looks just as good as when I first applied it.

My final thoughts. This is a great foundation. Its not overly matte nor overly dewy. It blends so well and looks natural on the skin. It doesn’t get cakey or separate throughout the day. All my other make-up products blend out well on top of it. It contains SPF but I have experienced no white cast in flash photography. And it has an amazing shade range, I think almost everyone could find something. I’ve definitely found a new favorite.

Hope this review has helped any of you who were thinking about trying out this product!
