Marc Jacobs Hi-Shine | Review

My birthday was last month so I did a little shopping at Sephora as a treat to myself. I wanted to try a lot of new things. Some were new releases and some were just new to me. One of the new to me items were the Enamored Hi-Shine Glosses by Marc Jacobs. I haven’t tried much from his line but I used to LOVE his Genius Gel Foundation, so I thought I would pick up some of lip glosses to try.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pale nude gloss for a while. I spotted the shade Moonglow and thought my prayers had been answered. It swatched beautifully and I couldn’t wait to try it. I also picked up the color Pink Flamingo, it just seemed like the perfect pink heading into Spring and Summer.

The packaging for these glosses is so luxe and sleek. The gloss has a nice doe foot applicator that applies the right amount of product. I tested these out for about a week. I wore them on their own and as a topper.

Sorry this photo is a little blurry!

Here are my thoughts. These glosses are great as toppers. Perhaps its because I chose lighter colors, but although these swatched nicely, they just were not pigmented on the lips. Especially Moonglow. I had such high hopes for that shade and it looked like I had just applied a clear gloss to my lips. Pink Flamingo performed the same, the pigmentation was so sheer that the beautiful pink color did not show up.

Unfortunately these were a bust for me. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect nude gloss.
