Drugstore Haul

I cruised the “new” section on Ulta a few weeks ago and picked up some new things! Keep reading to check it out!

The Jordana Contour stick and WnW highlighter are from Walgreens

First up we have the new concealer palette from Maybelline. I got mine in the color light. As you see in the photo below there is a corrector, concealer, and highlight section.

I’ve tried this a couple times and I have mixed feelings. The light yellow correcting shade is very stiff and does not work for me. The green is great at masking redness, but the consistency is stiff as well. The conceal shades don’t work for my skin tone. The deeper shade has a tint of orange to it so I use it as a peach corrector and it works great! The matte highlight shade doesn’t show up on my skin when blended, and the metallic highlight is a little too dark.

I have pretty fair skin, so finding contour products (especially from the drugstore) can be difficult – a lot of products are too warm or orange. But this Jordana contour stick is great for fair skin! It’s creamy, blends out like a dream, and its under 5 bucks!

Another new contour product from the drugstore that I wanted to try was this palette from Physicians Formula. The middle shade looked cool enough to be promising.

This palette comes with a highlight, contour, and bronzer shade. The highlight powder doesn’t wow me by any means. The bronzer is a bit too orange. The contour color is perfect! Layer it over the Jordana contour stick and it is a match made in heaven.

What goes better with contour then highlight! This Wet N Wild Hightlighter in Precious Petals is beautiful. It gives a nice glow to the cheek, nothing too intense. Great for everyday.

I picked up these two palettes from Ulta because they were inexpensive, colorful, and also very similar (maybe a battle of the palettes?). These are colors you don’t usually see at the drugstore. I haven’t played with these too much but from the few colors I have tried, I am impressed.

The blue and purple swatch great!

I was really impressed with how these palettes swatched on bare skin, no primer. I kinda want to do a battle of the palettes since they have similar colors. What do you think?

Let me know if you want to see any of these products in action! What new stuff have you snagged at the drugstore lately?
