Summer is here. At least in Sacramento, its been quite warm here the last week. This means my skincare has to change a little bit. If you would like to see what my current routine is keep reading!
I have oily/combo skin so the warmer weather is not my friend. It will just make my skin that much oilier. I try to combat that with skincare.
First I start with cleanser. I’ve been using The Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser for about a year now. It’s really helped with any breakouts, both in preventing them and in making any breakout shorter. I use this every morning. I use Philosophy Purity at night to take off my make up.
To take off any remaining makeup and just to second cleanse my skin I love the Garnier Micellar water. I’ve used a few other micellar water’s but I always come back to this one.
Next up toner. In the morning I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner. This has corn starch in it to help keep your skin matte during the day. At night time I use the Josie Maran Nirvana Hydrating Treatment Mist.
This mist is the newest member of my skincare routine. This is magic. The mist is very hydrating and is meant to be put on before any serum or skin treatment as it will allow any products to be absorbed better, to get the most out of your skincare products. When I use this I feel like my skin feels so hydrated in the morning without being oily.
For daytime lotion I use Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. I like this. It gives my skin the right amount of moisture without making me more oily and it has sunscreen which is a must! I also use Origins Ginzing eye cream. I love this stuff. Its very moisturizing and I do believe it helps brighten and depuff the eye area. Also here is a beauty secret: keep your eye cream in the fridge. The cool cream will help depuff even more.
For night time I use Philosophy Miracle Worker Overnight. Now as for its anti-aging claims, I don’t know if its effective since I don’t have any wrinkles (yet). But as a night cream I really like it. Its a thicker cream but it absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy texture behind.
This is what is currently working for me. What are some of your skincare favorites right now?
