Another new drugstore product has popped up at my local target. These I found ultra interesting because I saw them potentially as a strong dupe for a popular Too Faced product. So what is it? The CoverGirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick!

Melting you say….sounds awfully similar to Melted. As in Too Faced’s Melted Liquid Lipstick. But before we get into dupes, lets talk about the CoverGirl Melting Pout first.

I found a full display of these at my local Target. I was drawn in by the dupe aspect of them, and for under $7, why not give them a shot. I picked up a nude, a red, a great summer coral, and a fun purple.

CoverGirl describes these as a high impact and opaque liquid lipstick that is lightweight. It also claims to have a gel-based formula so that it is comfortable on the lips and not drying.

There are a total of 12 shades in the range. All the way from nudes, to brights, bold deep shades and even a navy blue!

I’ve worn shades, 110, 115, and 135. I have to say they are very comfortable to wear. Like most liquid lipsticks, it is a thicker formula so it stays put once applied so I don’t have to worry about it slipping or sliding. I wore shade 110 to work and it lasted all the way through the work day. It faded a bit from lunch but the color still lingered. These are not drying at all, but then again I didn’t expect them to be. I also find these to be very opaque. One layer was all I needed.

You can see how creamy and opaque they are in the swatches below.

Top to Bottom: 110, 115, 135, 125

So how about as a dupe??

I only own one shade from the Too Faced Melted line and I believe I received it in an Ipsy box, so its not a full sized tube, as you will see in the pictures.

I compared Too Faced Melted Peony to CoverGirl 110 Evan-gel-ical.

You can see that the packaging is very similar. They both come in a squeezy tube with a cushion tip applicator.

Here is a close up of the applicators. CoverGirl on the left and Too Faced on the right. The CoverGirl applicator is a little bit smaller. Both distribute product from the middle of the applicator.

Here are comparison swatches. Too Faced is swatched on top, CoverGirl is swatched on bottom. Now this is not an exact dupe for color but they are very close. When it comes to texture and opacity, again they are very similar.

If you’ve ever wanted to try the Too Faced Melted lipsticks but couldn’t justify the $21 price tag, then give these CoverGirl dupes a try, you could get 3 for the price of 1!

I give these a definite gold star. This is a great drugstore product and just like the Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer I really hope they expand this line.
