When I was in college I had a roommate who affectionately called me a “goo-hoarder”. This was because she was unlucky enough to share a bathroom with me and my plethora of hair care items. My side of the sink was always cluttered with bottles of various sprays, mists, creams, and serums. Even now, my side of the counter looks like a war zone compared to my boyfriends side.
When it comes to hair care, unless a product completely blows me out of the water I am always trying something new. (If you want to see two of my hair cant-live-without-it products check out the Verb products here). I am always trying new shampoo’s, conditioners, hairsprays, texturizers, you name it- I’ve probably bought it.
My two latest purchases, that I am currently loving, are from Paul Mitchell. This is a brand that has been around for years. In fact, it has a special place in my heart, because I remember being a little girl and watching my mom get ready and she would use Paul Mitchell as well.
I picked these up at my local Ulta during a sale (in fact they are having a sale now!) and these have become a staple in my hair routine.
The Paul Mitchell Express Style Quick Slip is the answer to your hair drying prayers. This is a cream-gel styling product that conditions and protects the hair while providing a flexible hold to your style, as well as speeding up drying time.
I use two pumps of this, after my Verb leave-in treatment, and work it through my hair. I have noticed a decrease in my drying time. A lot of style creams promise a decrease in drying time, but this is the first product where I have actually noticed it. This product doesn’t weigh down my hair or make it greasy. It just makes my hair feel soft.
Next up is the Paul Mitchell Smoothing Super Skinny Serum. This is the product I remember my mom using when I was a little girl. It is definitely a tried and true product. It claims to fight frizz, add shine, condition and seal hair, and also speed up drying!
In my routine I use the Skinny Serum after the Quick Slip as my last product before I start styling. I only use one pump of this, as a little goes a long way. This has definitely helped condition and add shine to my chemically treated hair. Since I bleach my hair, sometimes my hair can get a little frizzy near the ends and won’t smooth down when I blow dry it. This product has helped with those issues.
If these products keep impressing me like they have so far, they might just become permanent staples in my hair routine. I’m also interested in Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner.
