Outside of the blog, I work a 9 to 5 office job. I wear professional business clothes, heels, and office appropriate makeup. (i.e. nothing too flashy or trendy) While this blog is aimed at the “everyday woman”, sometimes this everyday woman, needs to get outside that professional neutral box.
I recently discovered that Nordstrom Rack has a makeup section (but…like…seriously, how did I not know this before?!) My local Nordstrom Rack has a display featuring Urban Decay. Most of it is sprays and lip items that feature the older packaging. But I did stumble upon the Electric palette.
I remember when this was released. I was drawn to it, but never bought it because I knew I would never reach for it that often. But finding it at 60% off, I thought I would give it a shot and it would push me outside my comfort zone.
I follow an Instagramer named @milk1422. He is a face chart artist out of Moscow. His Instagram is amazing. He is a true artist. So because I needed some inspiration, I turned to his page. I (attempted) to recreate one of his face charts. Now this was not the easiest thing to do, but I had SO much fun doing it.
Here are all the products I used for the rest of the look, including some swatches of the palette.
This was fun to recreate. I already have a few more ideas buzzing around on what to do with this palette. Sometimes its nice to step outside that plain neutral box and experiment and do something different. Push the boundaries.
