August Favorites

It is now September! The beginning of fall. The time for sweaters, Pumpkin Spice Latte’s, and cozy weekends. Unless you’re living in Northern California which while I’m writing this is 110 degrees. I feel like its the furthest thing from fall right now. But to commemorate the ‘end of summer’ lets see what I’ve been loving this past month!

Couple of eye products I’ve been loving have been the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic in Edgitorial (see my previous post here), Lancome Monsieur Big, and Colourpop super shock shadow in Mixed Tape.

The new Lancome mascara (anyone else think of SATC?) is great! I love the brush and the formula. It makes my lashes thick and voluminous and lifted. My only gripe is that it is difficult to remove. I use oil to remove my makeup which can basically remove everything, but this mascara. But it doesn’t bother me that much. I’ve also been bringing out my colourpop shadows more and more. This shade in particular, Mixed Tape, I love. Its a great neutral taupey-grey. Its also perfect for one shadow looks.

My favorite face products this past month have been these three. This primer from The Ordinary, the Fit Me powder from Maybelline, and the Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation.

I’ve been wearing The Ordinary’s High-Adherence Silicone primer every day since the day I got it in the mail. This stuff is great. While it doesn’t do anything to combat my oiliness, it does a great job helping my makeup last through the day. My second, relatively new, favorite is this Fit Me powder. For a drugstore powder this stuff is great (even for oily skin). This is my second bottle of this Lancome foundation, I can’t say enough great things about it. Check out my previous post about it!

Last up is the Maybelline Matte Ink in Loyalist and Black Opium perfume by Yves Saint Laurent. I’m normally not a fan of peachy based nudes. Most of them clash with my skin tone. But for whatever reason, this nude shade just works for me. I keep this in my purse 24/7. The YSL perfume is a great dark musky scent. Almost smells like a men’s cologne but with just enough vanilla to make it feminine.

What have you been loving this past month? Let me know in the comments!
