Peaches & Cream

Too Faced has FINALLY released their long awaited Peaches and Cream collection. This was all inspired by the insane cult following from the release of the Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette. I happened to wander in to my local Sephora the day the collection launched in stores and I have to say, I’m so glad I did!

I was so surprised to find this collection in stores! Usually when a new collection launches you can only find it online before it becomes available in stores. I really love that the collection launched online and in stores on the same day.

I own the Sweet Peach palette so I was intrigued by the Peaches and Cream line, especially because it is an all matte line, and my oily skin loves that. I was instantly drawn to the primer and powder.

How adorable is the packaging?! The inside of the box has little peaches.

I’m always down to try a new mattifying powder. As an oily girl I’m always on the hunt for an amazing matte powder that won’t cake up during the day. The primer was also very intriguing to me, it claims to be a cooling and mattifying primer. That is something very different.

The Peach Perfect Mattifying Powder claims to keep you matte for 14 hours. You get 1.23 oz of product, which is more than you get in a standard setting powder.  I love the packaging. Its a very solid container with a great travel lid which will keep your powder in place so it doesn’t end up all in the lid (hands up if that’s happened to you). The powder is very soft and blends out beautifully. It does smell like peaches, but its not overwhelming. If you are sensitive to fragrance, it might be too much.

The Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer comes with 1.35 oz of product, so a bit more than the standard 1 oz. Again I love the packaging, it comes in a tube with a pump and a pretty gold lid. The primer also smells faintly of peaches but not quite as strong as the powder. It is a very thick primer, at first the texture reminds me of a pore filling primer, but as you spread it out it becomes more cream like. It also does have a cooling sensation when applied to the face!

I tested out the primer and powder over the weekend and wore it to an outdoor wedding in 110 degree heat. If any product was going to prove that it was mattifying and would help control oil, it was going to be at that wedding.

The above picture is about 1 hour after I applied my makeup. When the primer is applied the cooling feeling is very refreshing and the primer becomes almost tacky. My foundation applied like a dream over the primer. I wore the Lancome Teint Idole foundation, which is a great long wearing foundation.

The powder applied and blended out beautifully. All my other powder products like blush and bronzer blended out on top. I also had no photography flashback.

This picture was taken after being outside in the heat for about 2 hours, about 3 hours after application. As you can see, I am still very matte but my skin looks great. The powder never caked up through out the night, and my skin looked matte but fresh for well over 6 hours in the heat.

It’s been a while since I’ve been this blown away by a primer or a powder. I have tried new ones lately that I’ve liked, but nothing that has impressed me like these two products have. I might have to go back a take a second look at the foundation in the collection. The powder might just bump my Laura Mercier Translucent powder from HG status, that’s how much I love this powder.

What are you excited to try from the new collection from Too Faced? Is there anything that has caught your eye?
