Holy cow, I can’t believe I started my little blog one year ago! A year ago I wrote my very first post. Thank you for following me along on my journey. Thank you for being supportive. Thank you for coming back to my little corner of the internet.
I started this blog with nothing more than a passion for makeup and all things beauty related. I’ve always been the one friends would turn to for makeup or hair or beauty related questions. After years of people telling me I should start my own blog, I finally did. Funny enough, my first post wasn’t even beauty related! It was a recipe, although I guess food could be the second love of my life after makeup.
P.S. I still stand by that recipe, it is seriously so good!
This blog has been a blessing and a learning experience. It’s pushed me outside of my comfort zone, its made me want to explore the city I call home even more. I’ve read way more articles about photography then I ever thought I would in my lifetime. I’ve definitely used the blog as a reason to buy more makeup! It’s also pushed me to explore my creative side even more.
And I’m so grateful for all of it.
For this anniversary post I thought I would share some tidbits about myself. Here are 10 facts about me!
-I’m ambidextrous. I write and eat with my left hand. Everything else, I’m right handed.
-Every four years my birthday lands on President’s Day. When I was little I used to tell people that I was related to all the president’s. Sadly, that’s not true.
-My Mom and I are very close. I call her everyday.
-I have a terrible sweet tooth. Especially for ice cream, and donuts, and cake, and truffles, and….well you get the idea.
-Speaking of baked goods. I LOVE to bake. I bake for gatherings and parties, because I can’t be trusted with a dozen cupcakes at home and not eat them in 2 days.
-I’m a two-feet-in kind of gal. As my mother would say “Nora, you never do anything half way, you always jump in with both feet.” I like to think of it as passion. If I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it 110%.
-I have a very memorable laugh. You either love it or hate it. I’ll never change it.
-I was in a sorority in college, Phi Sigma Sigma. I made the best memories, met my life long friends, and even met my boyfriend through a sorority function.
-I have the best two little rescue dogs on the planet. I grew up with lots of pets and am a huge pet lover. I stopped traffic once to help a Mama duck and her babies cross the road.
-Last thing, I love to read. I almost always have a book with me. Barnes and Noble is my favorite store at the mall, besides Sephora. I love historical fiction, mysteries, and books with fantastic female characters.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me.
I can’t wait to see where Kate & Andy is another year from now.
*I took these photos in front of these amazing murals that were created by equally amazing artists as part of Wide Open Walls – Sacramento. The two murals were created by artists Jose Di Gregorio and Miles Toland. If you’re in the area check out the Wide Open Walls website and check out all the new murals around town. The tiger mural was not part of Wide Open Walls but was painted by Alex “Cabron” Forster.
