September Favorites

Happy October! Its the start of one of my favorite months. While the official start of fall may be in September, it doesn’t really feel like it until October. Plus I feel like October is the kick off to all the fun holidays to come – Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hanukkah. But before I get ahead of myself, here’s what I’ve been loving this past month!

When I started collecting my favorites for this post, I realized some were new and some were not.

First up, Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte foundation in the shade snow. Now I did a review of two other products from the Peaches and Cream collection when it first came out and I was so impressed I went back and picked up the foundation. I’m so glad I did because it is great. It stays all day, doesn’t transfer, doesn’t cake up, I’m not oily. I mean really what else could you want in a foundation?! I have the lightest shade, snow, and I hope they expand the line because this shade is on the yellow side and I know as we go into the winter months I will have to mix it with my lighter foundations.

Speaking of complexion, I tried the new Sephora Collection Make No Mistake High Coverage concealer. When Sephora says high coverage they mean it! This concealer is very thick and pigmented. I purchased it to help cover some hyper pigmentation and boy does it work! You only have a use the smallest amount otherwise it can look too thick and will cake up under your foundation.

The next two products I got from one of my  Sephora Play Box. The first is the Charcoal Pore Pudding Wash Off Treatment from Boscia. What can I say about this except that I LOVE IT. I love face masks of all kinds and I have a bunch at home that I cycle through, but rarely is there one that makes such a large impact on my skin. This mask draws out all the impurities in your skin and it also help with any breakouts all without drying out your skin. When  I wash this off I’m never left with that tight feeling in my skin.

The next product is the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara. I haven’t tried much from their line, but this mascara is a great one. I don’t know if its the brush or the formula but it makes my lashes long, curls them, and makes them voluminous. I’m still using my little travel size I got in my Play Box but I have a feeling I will be buying the full size of both these products once I’m out.

Now I know I had this product in last months favorites as well, but what can I say? I stick with what works! Let me tell you the Maybelline Matte Ink Lipcolor works for me. This month I’ve been loving the shade Lover. Its the perfect deeper mauve-nude to carry you into fall. I’ve been wearing it non-stop.

Maybelline has really stepped up their game in the lip products department. The other product I’ve been loving is the Color Jolt lip color in Stripped Down, last seen here. This color is a great browny-nude that isn’t too brown. The creamy formula is also a nice change up from liquid lipsticks.

Last is a recent hair product find. (I am a self proclaimed goo-hoarder) I have fine, medium length hair that has some short and sassy layers and I was on the hunt for a product that would help me piece out those sassy layers. Enter Brilliantine by Bumble and Bumble. I’ve used various Bumble and Bumble products over the years, in addition to Verb they are my favorite brand for styling products. I like to mix a dime-ish amount of Brilliantine with just a smidge of the Ghost Oil from Verb and use those to run through the ends of my hair and they add texture and shine to my hair.

These are just a few of my favorite things.

xo,
