Kiss & Tell

Sorry for all the holiday sets I’ve been posting, but some of them are just so good I have to share! Ulta has some great gift sets this year, some from my favorite brands.

Lorac comes out with fantastic lipstick gift sets every holiday season. I think they are one of the most underrated lipstick and lipgloss formulas, I never hear any one talk about them. Every year I try and snag one of the lip sets since not only are they a great formula but they are also an incredible value.

The set I’m featuring today is the Mod Goddess Alter Ego Lipstick Set Vol. II. They have two lipstick sets this year Volume I is all matte lipsticks and Volume II is all satin finishes.

This set has five lipsticks in all very wearable shades. Optimist is a soft peachy pink. Cat Lady is a soft mauve. Damsel is a darker mauve. Day Dreamer is a plum fuchsia. Prom Queen is a soft burgundy. Most holiday lip sets are sets of minis or deluxe sample sizes. Lorac lip sets are FULL SIZED products. Yes, you read that right. For less than the price of two lipsticks you get five in this set.

The lip sets this year are all done in this pretty millennial pink packaging with the lip color at the bottom, which I find both pretty and practical. The lipsticks themselves are opaque and creamy. They apply like a dream and feel very comfortable on the lips. I find that the satin finish lipsticks have a decent wear time (5-6 hours) but may not last through a meal.

Gorgeous packaging right? The attention to detail with the embossed L on the lipstick itself is a great touch.

Top to Bottom:  Optimist, Cat Lady, Damsel, Day Dreamer, and Prom Queen
Left to Right: Optimist, Cat Lady, Damsel, Day Dreamer, and Prom Queen

All of these colors are perfect for this time of year with some great nudes and a couple pops of color.

I find this formula to also be consistent with their regular line. I already owned Cat Lady so I compared the one I already owned to the one in this set. The left swatch is from the lipstick I already owned and the swatch on the right is from the set. The one on the left is a bit more saturated but I do think the colors are the identical.

I think this set is a great holiday gift, birthday gift, or just a gift for yourself. I think these are colors that most people will find wearable. Its a great value and a great way to try the Lorac Alter Ego lipstick line. I’m really happy with this set and some of these shades have quickly become favorites.

If you pick this up let me know what you think!
