Maybelline has come out with a lot of new products lately and this mascara caught my eye. I’m a sucker for packaging, no matter the brand, it always draws me in. I’m always down to review a drugstore mascara because sometimes they knock it out of the park. Keep scrolling to see how this one performed!

The Total Temptation mascara from Maybelline comes in 3 shades as well as a waterproof version. Which can someone explain to me the difference between blackest black and very black? Is there any difference?? I digress…

The packaging is so cute and sleek in the perfect shade of Millennial Pink.

The brush is made of natural bristles and is more of your classic mascara brush shape. This mascara promises to build volume and create soft fluffy lashes. It states the formula is whipped and enriched with coconut extract.

So lets get to the comparison. My natural lashes are kinda curled, not totally straight. They are also lighter on the tips so they tend to look short without mascara.

This before and after is after applying about 3 coats of mascara. I found that on the third coat the mascara did start to clump a little. Not too much but I did have to make an effort to brush through my lashes and separate a couple of clumps.

This comparison you can see that my lashes are curled a little.

Overall I think this is a decent mascara. It just depends on what you want out of your mascara. This would work great for me on days where I might be doing something a bit more minimal or natural.

The one thing I don’t like about this mascara is the brush size, its just a little too big. It makes it harder to get to the roots of the lashes to really build volume.

What is your favorite drugstore mascara?
