Another month has come and gone so that means its time for monthly favorites! February is always a busy month for me, so while I love it, its a lot of work. So here are the favorites that got me through it.
I have a fair number of skincare favorites this month. The first two products are from Philosophy. One is a new favorite the other an old favorite. I mentioned the new Philosophy moisturizer in a recent post, and while I’ve only been using it for about a month, its already kicked my Clinque moisturizer to the curb.
The Purity cleanser from Philosophy is a cult classic, I’ve used it on and off before. After I got engaged I ended up switching to this cleanser because the one I was using before would react with my ring and irritate my skin (weird right?!) But the Purity cleanser is so soft and gentle on the skin and removes my makeup at night.
About a year ago I wrote about The Ordinary skincare line. One of the products I wrote about was the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, I know great name right? The name sounds a little scary and the product looks scary but it does wonderful things for my skin. I use this about once a week and I’ve noticed a marked difference in my skin. I use this mainly to help get rid of hyper-pigmentation and to improve the texture of my skin. Switching to the Purity cleanser and using this mask regularly have really cleared up my skin.
Two of makeup favorites this month are two long time favorites that I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned before. The Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder is something I have used for years. It is the perfect under eye concealer setting powder. There is no flashback and the powder is so light, it won’t cake up under the eyes. I feel like this powder really does brighten the under eye area. This is not a powder to bake with any time I’ve tried it ends up looking cakey and dry, and who wants that?
I also have used the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Highlighter for a long time. In fact it was the only highlighter I owned until I bought a Wet n Wild one just a year or so ago. There is nothing “matte” about this highlighter – it is a soft “glow from within” kind of highlight. If you are looking for a softer more natural highlight then this is the one for you!
Lastly, I have a pair of false lashes from Sephora. I needed a pair of falsies and I discovered these from the Sephora Collection brand. These are in the style Quill and are more on the natural side. I found these lashes so easy to apply, the lash band is thin and flexible which helps make it blend with your natural lash line. These gave me added volume but weren’t too dramatic.
Do you have any monthly favorites that I just have to try? Let me know!
