Colourful Surprise

A few weeks ago I shared my little haul and swatches of the items I picked up when Colourpop launched in Ulta. I thought it would be great for a little tutorial using the palette that caught my eye.

One of the reasons that I rushed over to Ulta the moment Colourpop launched was I had my eye on this palette and on one specific color. I talk about the palette in more detail and have swatches in my original post if you want to see more of the palette.

Tutorial

I really wanted to use the shade Opulent (the bright pink). I had my eye on this shade from the moment I saw this palette.

Using a fluffy blending brush I fluff Go with the Flow in my outer and upper crease.

To deepen the crease a little I use Labyrinth in the crease and outer corner.

Next I used a small detail brush and pencil brush to apply Opulent to the inner and outer corners, leaving the middle blank.

Next I packed on Subdue in the middle of my lid with my finger and used the same detail brush as before to help the shade blend into Opulent.

I used a pencil brush to smudge Opulent all along the lower lash line. And blended out the harsh lines with Go with the Flow.

I added mascara and called it a day!

The shade Opulent was everything I wanted it to be. It was opaque and blended out easily. Some bright colors don’t apply as bright as they are in the pan. This was perfect and it didn’t fade throughout the day.

Maybe not the most wearable look but it was fun to do!

Do you like more wearable looks or more fun/colorful looks?

  1. Oh I’ve been dreaming about this palette for so long! I just don’t know how much use I’d get out of it other than playing around for the blog/IG account. I love the look you created, though. The duochrome is stunning!

    1. I actually use the mattes a lot! They are really great transition shades. And most of the shimmers are very wearable every day colors.
