Neon Lights

A few weeks ago I had a post all about glitter eyeliner (if you want to check it out, click here) For part of that post I created this fun eye look that I thought I would re-create as a tutorial.

When I wrote about glitter eyeliner I created an all matte eyeshadow look to show how you can use glitter to transform a matte shadow. I ended up just playing around with some color and really liked the way it turned out!

I used an interesting combo of eyeshadow palettes – the Urban Decay Electric , the Jaclyn HillxMorphe, and Kat Von D Saint & Sinner palettes.

To start off this look I buffed Martyr from the KVD palette in the crease. This color is a really nice warm brown.

Then I placed Exorcism, from the KVD palette, in the outer corner and into the crease. I used a smaller blending brush for this. But it was still a bit of work to blend the edge of the purple shade.

Then I used Pool Party from the Jaclyn Hill palette and blended that over the edges of Exorcism. The deep purple tones down the light blue of Pool Party and creates this really pretty teal shade.

Next I used my good ol’ NYX Milk pencil to add a white base to the rest of my lid.

Then I packed on Exodus from the KVD palette. I’ve been obsessed with this lime-ish green color since I bought the Saint & Sinner palette. I also added a tiiiiiiiny bit of Thrash from the Electric palette to intensify it more.

On the lower lash line I took a pencil brush and dragged Exorcism onto the outer third of the lower lash line connecting it to the outer corner. I also used Slowburn from the Electric palette on the rest of my lash line and smudged it with a small detail brush.

To finish it off I blended the edges with Pool Party and added just a bit of mascara. I didn’t want to load up on mascara and take away from the colorful look.

Here is the final look!

I finished it off with a nude lip from Maybelline and left the rest of the face neutral.

Now this look isn’t for everyone and to be honest I’m not sure how often I would wear something like this. But sometimes its just fun to play around right? After all it’s just makeup, if you don’t like it you can wash it away!

What are some products or shades that you like to play around with but don’t wear often? I’d love to know in the comments! Have a great Friday everyone!
